Hsp70, or Heat Shock Protein 70, is a highly conserved protein found in nearly all living organisms. It belongs to the family of heat shock proteins that are produced by cells in response to stressful conditions such as elevated temperatures, oxidative stress, and exposure to toxins. These conditions can cause protein misfolding, and Hsp70 plays a critical role in protein homeostasis by facilitating the correct folding of nascent and stress-denatured proteins.
