Are There Any Pathological Conditions Associated with IL-4?
Elevated levels of IL-4 are associated with several pathological conditions, particularly those involving allergic and inflammatory responses. Conditions such as asthma, atopic dermatitis, and allergic rhinitis often exhibit increased IL-4 activity. In these conditions, the histological examination may reveal increased numbers of Th2 cells, eosinophils, and IgE-producing plasma cells.
