CD1a is primarily found in epidermal Langerhans cells, which are specialized dendritic cells located in the skin. It is also expressed in a subset of thymocytes and certain types of dendritic cells found in mucosal tissues. The expression of CD1a can be detected using specific immunohistochemical staining techniques.
