SGLT1, or sodium-glucose linked transporter-1, is a membrane protein responsible for the active transport of glucose and galactose into cells. It is a member of the SLC5A family of cotransporters and plays a crucial role in the absorption of glucose in the small intestine and reabsorption in the renal proximal tubules.
