What Are the Histological Features of Endomysial Inflammation?
Histologically, endomysial inflammation is characterized by the presence of inflammatory cells infiltrating the endomysium. The predominant cells are lymphocytes, although macrophages and, occasionally, plasma cells may also be present. The inflammatory infiltrate may be focal or diffuse, and its intensity can vary significantly. In chronic cases, fibrosis and muscle fiber atrophy may also be observed, indicating ongoing damage and repair processes.
