Endomysial inflammation refers to the inflammatory response occurring within the endomysium, the connective tissue layer surrounding individual muscle fibers. This condition is often identified through histological examination of muscle biopsies. It involves the infiltration of inflammatory cells, primarily lymphocytes and macrophages, into the endomysium. These infiltrates can disrupt normal muscle architecture, potentially leading to muscle weakness and damage.
