What Staining Techniques are Used to Identify Granulomas?
Several staining techniques can be used to identify granulomas in tissue sections. Hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining is commonly used to visualize the general structure of the granuloma. Special stains like Ziehl-Neelsen staining can be used to detect acid-fast bacilli in tuberculosis, while periodic acid-Schiff (PAS) stain can help identify fungal elements.
