Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (POI), also known as premature ovarian failure, is a condition characterized by the loss of normal ovarian function before the age of 40. This condition leads to decreased production of estrogen and other hormones, resulting in irregular or absent menstrual cycles and often infertility.
