Diagnosis of POI involves a combination of clinical assessment, laboratory tests, and histological examination. Clinically, patients often present with amenorrhea or oligomenorrhea. Laboratory tests typically show elevated levels of FSH and low levels of estrogen. Histologically, ovarian biopsy may reveal the aforementioned depletion of follicles and other structural changes.
