Mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma is a type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma that originates in the lymphoid tissues of the mucosal linings of various organs. It is most commonly found in the stomach but can also occur in the thyroid, lungs, salivary glands, and other sites. This lymphoma is often associated with chronic inflammation resulting from persistent infections or autoimmune disorders.
