Demodicosis, also known as demodectic mange, is a skin condition caused by the infestation of Demodex mites. These mites are normal inhabitants of the hair follicles and sebaceous glands of mammals, including humans. However, under certain conditions, their population can proliferate abnormally, leading to skin issues.
