What Histological Changes Occur in Cystic Fibrosis?
Cystic Fibrosis, while primarily known for affecting the exocrine glands, also leads to the development of cystic structures in the lungs due to chronic infection and inflammation. Histologically, the lungs show thickened bronchial walls, mucus plugging, and the presence of dilated, cystic airways. Chronic inflammation and fibrosis are also common findings.
