Different types of cells are found in each skin layer, each contributing to the layer's function:
Keratinocytes: Predominantly in the epidermis, these cells produce keratin. Melanocytes: Located in the stratum basale, they produce melanin, which gives skin its color and protects against UV radiation. Langerhans Cells: Found in the stratum spinosum, these cells are involved in immune responses. Fibroblasts: Present in the dermis, they produce collagen and elastin fibers. Adipocytes: Found in the hypodermis, they store fat.
