What Are the Histological Features of Neutrophil Infiltration?
Under a microscope, tissues undergoing neutrophil infiltration exhibit several distinct features. Firstly, there is an increased number of neutrophils in the affected area. These cells are characterized by their lobulated nuclei and granular cytoplasm. In addition, the inflamed tissue may show signs of edema, which is the accumulation of fluid. There may also be evidence of tissue damage, such as cell necrosis and disruption of normal tissue architecture.
