How Do Neutrophils Migrate to the Site of Inflammation?
The migration of neutrophils involves a series of steps including chemotaxis, adhesion, and transmigration. During chemotaxis, neutrophils are attracted to the site of inflammation by chemical signals called chemokines. These signals are often released by damaged cells or other immune cells. Once they reach the blood vessels near the inflamed tissue, neutrophils adhere to the endothelial cells and subsequently transmigrate through the vessel wall into the tissue.
