Several gene fusions are commonly associated with different types of cancer:
- BCR-ABL: Found in chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and some acute lymphoblastic leukemias (ALL). - ETV6-RUNX1: Common in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). - EWS-FLI1: Characteristic of Ewing's sarcoma. - TMPRSS2-ERG: Found in a significant percentage of prostate cancers.
