Skin aging is a complex process influenced by both intrinsic (genetic and biological) and extrinsic (environmental) factors. Histologically, aging skin shows a decrease in collagen and elastin fibers in the dermis, reduced cellular turnover in the epidermis, and impaired barrier function.
