Transglutaminases are studied in histology using a variety of techniques. Immunohistochemistry is commonly employed to localize these enzymes within tissues. Specific antibodies against transglutaminases can be used to stain tissue sections, allowing researchers to visualize the distribution and abundance of these enzymes. Additionally, enzyme activity assays are used to measure the activity of transglutaminases in tissue extracts. Molecular techniques such as PCR and Western blotting are also used to study the expression levels of transglutaminases.
