Lipid inclusions form through the aggregation of triglycerides and other lipid molecules within the cytoplasm. This process is facilitated by enzymes that synthesize and breakdown lipids, such as lipases and acyltransferases. When there is an excess of energy intake or a need for energy storage, cells convert glucose and other substrates into lipids, which are then stored as inclusions.
