cholecystokinin (cck)
Where is CCK Produced?
CCK is primarily produced by the
enteroendocrine cells
known as I cells in the mucosa of the duodenum and jejunum. These cells are part of the gut epithelium and are responsible for sensing the presence of nutrients in the intestine.
