Where Are Foreign Body Giant Cells Typically Found?
FBGCs are typically found at sites of chronic inflammation, particularly in response to the presence of indigestible foreign materials. They are commonly observed in granulomatous inflammation, which is characterized by the formation of granulomas – organized collections of immune cells that form in response to chronic inflammatory stimuli. Examples of conditions where FBGCs might be observed include tuberculosis, sarcoidosis, and reactions to surgical implants.
