Several types of tissue cultures are used in histology:
Primary Cultures: Derived directly from tissues and retain many of the characteristics of the original tissue. They have a limited lifespan. Secondary (or Subcultures): Obtained by passaging primary cultures. They often exhibit more homogeneous growth. Cell Lines: Immortalized cells that can be cultured for extended periods and have undergone genetic modifications. Organ Cultures: Maintains the architecture and function of an organ or tissue fragment.
