Stem Cell Factor (SCF), also known as c-Kit ligand or mast cell growth factor, is a cytokine that plays a crucial role in hematopoiesis, the process by which blood cells are formed. It is a glycoprotein encoded by the KITLG gene and is essential for the survival, proliferation, and differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs).
