Microvascular thrombosis involves the formation of thrombi or clots in the microvasculature. This process can obstruct blood flow, leading to ischemia and tissue damage. It is often associated with conditions such as sepsis, disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), and certain autoimmune disorders. Histologically, thrombi appear as eosinophilic masses within the vessel lumen, often accompanied by inflammatory cells.
