Fusobacterium necrophorum is a gram-negative anaerobic bacterium that is commonly found in the oral cavity, gastrointestinal tract, and female genital tract of humans and animals. It is known to cause a variety of infections, ranging from minor to severe. It is notably the causative agent of Lemierre's syndrome, a rare but life-threatening condition.
