1. Fixation: The tissue is preserved using chemicals like formalin to prevent degradation. 2. Processing: The fixed tissue is dehydrated and embedded in paraffin wax. 3. Sectioning: Thin slices of the wax-embedded tissue are cut using a microtome. 4. Staining: Slices are stained with dyes to highlight different cellular components. Common stains include Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E). 5. Examination: The stained slices are examined under a microscope by a pathologist.
