What Are the Limitations of In Situ Hybridization?
Despite its advantages, ISH has some limitations:
Technical Complexity: The procedure can be technically demanding, requiring optimization of conditions for each target. Sensitivity: Detection sensitivity may be lower compared to other techniques like PCR or qRT-PCR. Quantification: Quantitative analysis can be challenging and often requires additional image processing tools. Probe Design: Designing specific and efficient probes can be complex and time-consuming.
