What are the Limitations of Histological Techniques?
Despite its many advantages, histology has some limitations:
Sampling Error: The tissue sample may not be representative of the entire organ or lesion, leading to potential misdiagnosis. Resolution Limitations: Even advanced microscopes have resolution limits, and some cellular structures may be too small to be visualized. Preparation Artifacts: The preparation process can introduce artifacts that may be mistaken for pathological changes. Subjectivity: Interpretation of histological findings can be subjective and may vary between pathologists.
