What are the Limitations of Histological Analysis?
Despite its many advantages, histological analysis has some limitations:
Sample Preparation: The process can be time-consuming and requires skilled technicians. Improper preparation can lead to artifacts and misinterpretation. Resolution: While light microscopy provides good resolution, it may not be sufficient for observing subcellular structures. Electron microscopy offers higher resolution but is more complex and expensive. Subjectivity: Interpretation of histological slides can be subjective, depending on the experience and expertise of the observer. Limited Molecular Information: Traditional histology provides limited molecular information. Techniques like IHC and molecular pathology are needed for more detailed analysis.
