What are the Histological Markers of Interferon Response?
Histological markers of interferon response include the presence of ISGs. Some of the notable ISGs include Mx proteins, 2'-5'-oligoadenylate synthetase (OAS), and ISG15. These proteins can be detected using immunohistochemistry. An increase in MHC class I and II molecules can also serve as a marker of interferon activity. Additionally, the presence of cytokines such as IFN-γ in the tissue can be detected through various immunological assays.
