What are the Cellular Components of White Adipose Tissue?
The primary cell type in white adipose tissue is the unilocular adipocyte. These cells are characterized by a single, large lipid droplet that occupies most of the cell volume, pushing the nucleus to the periphery. In addition to adipocytes, WAT contains other cell types such as preadipocytes, fibroblasts, endothelial cells, and various immune cells.
