HIF-1α can be detected in tissue samples using immunohistochemistry (IHC). This technique involves using antibodies specific to HIF-1α to stain the protein in tissue sections. The stained sections can then be examined under a microscope to determine the localization and levels of HIF-1α within the tissue. In addition to IHC, quantitative PCR and Western blotting can be used to measure HIF-1α mRNA and protein levels, respectively.
