Passive transport does not require cellular energy (ATP) and relies on the concentration gradient of substances. There are different forms of passive transport:
Diffusion: Movement of molecules from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration. Osmosis: Diffusion of water across a selectively permeable membrane. Facilitated Diffusion: Movement of molecules across cell membranes through protein channels or carriers.
