Lymph nodes filter lymphatic fluid that drains from tissues, capturing pathogens, foreign particles, and abnormal cells. This fluid enters through afferent lymphatic vessels, circulates through the node, and exits via efferent lymphatic vessels. During this process, immune cells within the lymph nodes initiate responses to combat infections and other threats.
