How are Tissue Samples Processed for Histological Examination?
Once collected and preserved, tissue samples undergo several processing steps. These include dehydration through a series of alcohol baths, clearing with xylene, and embedding in paraffin wax. The embedded tissues are then sectioned into thin slices using a microtome, placed on glass slides, and stained using various histological stains such as Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) to highlight different cellular components.
