Polypeptide chains are synthesized during the process of translation in the ribosome. Messenger RNA (mRNA) carries the genetic code from DNA to the ribosome, where tRNA molecules bring the appropriate amino acids. These amino acids are then linked together through peptide bonds to form a polypeptide chain.
