How are HPV-Associated Lesions Classified in Histology?
In histology, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) is used to classify HPV-associated lesions. CIN is graded based on the extent of abnormal cell growth: - CIN 1: Mild dysplasia, confined to the lower third of the epithelium. - CIN 2: Moderate dysplasia, involving two-thirds of the epithelium. - CIN 3: Severe dysplasia, affecting more than two-thirds of the epithelium, including potential carcinoma in situ.
