While rimmed vacuoles are most strongly associated with IBM and HIBM, they can also be found in other conditions like Oculopharyngeal Muscular Dystrophy and various lysosomal storage diseases. However, their presence in these conditions is less common, and they are generally considered a more specific marker for inclusion body myopathies.
