The primary site for the synthesis of plasma proteins is the liver. Hepatocytes, the main liver cells, are responsible for producing the majority of these proteins. However, some plasma proteins like the gamma globulins (immunoglobulins) are synthesized by plasma cells in the bone marrow and lymphoid tissues.
