Mesenchymal cells are primarily found in the mesodermal layer of the embryo, but they are also present in various adult tissues. They are abundant in the bone marrow, where they are known as bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSCs). Additionally, they can be found in adipose tissue, umbilical cord blood, placenta, and dental pulp.
