Besides the classic features, other histological findings can sometimes be seen in celiac disease, including:
Increased Lamina Propria Cellularity: An increased number of inflammatory cells in the connective tissue underlying the epithelium. Epithelial Damage: Disruption or flattening of the epithelial cells lining the villi. Presence of Plasma Cells and other immune cells in the lamina propria.
