However, their activity can be inferred from the presence of lipid droplets and the breakdown of fat stores in various tissues. For example, in the pancreas, one can observe the exocrine acinar cells, which secrete pancreatic lipase. In the liver, Kupffer cells and hepatocytes are involved in lipid metabolism, while adipocytes in adipose tissue store and release fats under the influence of hormone-sensitive lipase.
