MyoD, or Myogenic Differentiation 1, is a protein encoded by the MYOD1 gene. It is a member of the myogenic regulatory factors (MRFs) family, which plays a crucial role in the regulation of muscle differentiation. MyoD is considered a master regulator of myogenesis, the process of muscle cell formation.
