Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) stain is one of the most commonly used techniques in histology for staining tissue sections. It is a combination of two dyes: hematoxylin, which is a basic dye, and eosin, which is an acidic dye. Hematoxylin stains cell nuclei blue or purple, while eosin stains the cytoplasm and extracellular matrix pink or red.
