This includes messenger RNA (mRNA), ribosomal RNA (rRNA), transfer RNA (tRNA), and non-coding RNA (ncRNA). In the context of histology, studying the transcriptome allows us to understand the functional elements of the cell and how these contribute to the tissue structure and function.
