A teratoma is a type of tumor that is composed of tissues from all three germ layers: ectoderm, mesoderm, and endoderm. These tumors are often heterogeneous and can contain a variety of tissue types such as hair, muscle, and even teeth. Teratomas can occur in various locations in the body but are most commonly found in the ovaries, testes, and along the midline of the body.
