A dentigerous cyst, also known as a follicular cyst, is a type of odontogenic cyst that surrounds the crown of an unerupted or developing tooth. It is the second most common type of odontogenic cyst, following the periapical cyst. Typically, dentigerous cysts are associated with the crowns of wisdom teeth (third molars), canines, and occasionally supernumerary teeth.
