The pathways involving arachidonic acid are targets for various anti-inflammatory drugs. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like aspirin and ibuprofen inhibit cyclooxygenases (COX-1 and COX-2), reducing the production of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins.
