Despite its widespread use, SDS-PAGE has several limitations:
Resolution: It may not resolve proteins with very similar molecular weights. Post-translational Modifications: SDS-PAGE cannot distinguish between proteins with different modifications. Quantification: While semi-quantitative, it is less accurate than other methods like mass spectrometry.
