How Do Inflammatory Cells Respond to Mechanical Irritation?
Inflammatory cells such as macrophages and neutrophils are quickly recruited to the site of mechanical irritation. These cells release cytokines and growth factors that promote tissue repair and remodeling. Macrophages, in particular, play a dual role by clearing debris and secreting factors that stimulate fibroblast activity.
